Melodramatic
The latest single by Dead Summer chronicles the “will they, won’t they” of a new relationship. One of the first songs written by the band, ‘Melodramatic’ was recorded in one marathon session alongside their debut single ‘Bloom’ at Barnhouse Sound.
Dead Summer
Dead Summer is an energetic, hard-hitting rock duo from Victoria, BC. Formed in 2024 by Nate Prevedoros and Michael Wilford, their sound pulls from bands like Royal Blood and The White Stripes, evoking their raw energy, but with added pop sensibility and sharp, hook-driven songwriting.
In their first year, Dead Summer wasted no time making an impact. They’ve already hit major stages including Phillips Backyard Weekender, Pacific FC’s Downtown Derby halftime show, FernFest, and the Laketown Amphitheatre (the largest ticketed event in Vancouver Island history) sharing lineups with artists such as Nickelback, Unknown Mortal Orchestra, The Glorious Sons, Two Feet, and Sam Roberts Band. Whether playing packed clubs or festival stages, the duo has quickly climbed bills and established themselves as a band that should be on everyone’s radar.
At a Dead Summer show you can expect punchy riffs, huge choruses and tight, heavy rock played like it matters. Their first two singles, Bloom, and Melodramatic are built for sweaty crowds and powerful sound systems. Pushing the limits of what two musicians can sound like, they utilize every tool at their disposal to create a layered and dynamic sonic experience and an impressive live show. With their debut EP slated for spring 2026, Dead Summer is primed to build on their fast-growing momentum.
